GRAND modern baby giveaway:

Brace yourselves because we're about to knock your socks off. Tangled and True is giving big today, featuring four of our very favorite companies. Thanks to FLOR, Boon, Sprout Basics and Fawn and Forest, one incredibly lucky reader will win 5 fantastic products to help her/him complete a modern nursery/baby ready home. And we're not talking accessories; this is the real deal with baby gear and home furnishings.

Initiated by the Oprah, there's been some buzz lately about giving big. It's a brilliant concept really-- to stir up enthusiasm about thinking outside of yourself and being charitable in proportions that seem unthinkable. We hope to stir up even a little bit of this giving back for the sake of giving back. Because it's a significant feel good that's hard to come by. So, not only have each of our featured companies chosen to give big, and not only will one deserving parent or parent-to-be become the recipient of that giving, but we hope you leave today with some inspiration to do the same.

On with the party.. shall we! This grand package will include:

30 toy poodle tiles, $420

1. FLOR, the most unique and modern of floor coverings in a do-it-yourself and design-it-yourself format, is donating an 8x10 area rug (30 tiles) in their most popular Toy Poodle style. It's soft and curly, versatile and "naturally- very comfortable to your paws." We think it's beyond nursery worthy. Winner chooses her/his choice of 18 lively + modern colors to suit their space perfectly.

Maybe you'll mix-and-match it or stick to a solid spread? See here for some lovely inspiration/ideas from everyday people.

2. Boon keeps delivering with innovations for modern parents and we're loving them for each one of their products! But more than anything else, their Flair Pedestal Highchair with Pneumatic Lift is revolutionary and inspiring.

Flair, $220

The style is beautifully simple and even complimentary to any modern home. The seamless seat with a cushioned chemical-resistant and water proof pad makes clean-up easy (hallelujah!) and the pneumatic lift allows for effortless height adjustment. And because they couldn't stop there, "Flair is equipped with an adjustable-position, compact tray, as well as top-quality safety features including a five-point harness and restraining post. The sturdy pedestal base gives Flair a unique form that is easy to clean and that slides smoothly under tables. Flair glides in any direction on six urethane casters that will not scratch floors, while the hands-free braking system easily locks the chair in place." Simply, it's a dreamy necessity.

3. Sprout Basics is new to the scene but deserves big praise for their mission: offering "a place where stylish moms can find fashion-forward basics for their littlest style-hound."
The essence of her collection- Love. Nurture. Play- is expressed in every piece through a kaleidoscope of colorful vintage fabrics. The result is cleverly crafted and disarmingly charming one-of-a-kind designs.
Since we're completely into encouraging unique, we love that the entire Mod Hearts collection will become part of this dream nursery. It's not a fabric you'll see on other babies. We like that.

Mod Hearts blanket, $85

In soothing blues and creamy chocolate hearts made of 100% combed cotton, backed by ultra-soft dots and framed in silky satin, swaddling has never felt or looked so good!

matching Mod Hearts nursing cover, $35

And because mothering shouldn't need to be compromised by a lack of fashion, Mom can feel the love too.

4. Fawn & Forest brings it all together with an amazing collection of good design that can be enjoyed by the entire family. This is what the Fawn&Forest team call the starting point in sharing the joys of good design with our children. Because they "offer a well curated selection of products you will appreciate for their superior quality as well as their thoughtful design," you'll be proud to put anything you buy in their shop anywhere in your home.

These Oeuf baby loungers, for example, are not only sleekly styled, but come with a 3-point safety belt and suitable for a baby up to 18 lbs. They're deeply padded, machine washable, and supported by a steel frame. We called this a serious necessity in our home when Cole was a newborn and how I would have loved the chocolate stripe or quilted blue versus a bear and bunny theme. This has been on my baby gear lust list for ages! The winner will have her/his choice from any one of the 4 color options.

The grand total comes to $900 worth of modern baby amazingness.. all going to one winner. And because these companies are into giving, they are thrilled to offer any tangled and true readers some lovely discounts:
Shop fawn&forest with 10% off by using code "fawn".
Or Sprout Basics with 30% off by using code "tangledandtrue".

You can't even stand all of this and you're already dreaming of what you would do with the loot? Then make note! In order to be in the drawing to win, please:
1. comment as usual (this is excellent feedback for the participating companies)
and
2. submit an email to with "grand giveaway" in the subject with the following information:
*your name and address
*how each of these four companies have inspired you
*how you will commit to give back (in a big way) this year
Anyone is eligible to enter and the winner will be chosen based upon her/his (complete) application. We hope for and welcome thoughtful and creative submissions to help us get to know you, your efforts to live a thoughtful life and your deservedness.
All entries must be received by 12pm (noon) Monday, April 21st and the winner will be announced on tangled and true (be sure to check back!) on Friday, April 25th.

Wow! Good luck.

A giveaway that inspires to give! Awesome!!

Wow! What an amazing and generous gift and challenge! It would be delightful to receive any one of these gifts solo, but the entire kit and kaboodle is awesome! Where were the nursing wraps when I was nursing my little guy?! He always got so overheated under a blanket and was always squirming to get out. The high chair is incredible- I've never seen anything like it!

said...

Wow. This is seriously awesome.
I love the Flor tiles. I have just found a base for my home decoration. Hooray! I just saw the boon highchair in person this weekend and it was so cool and useful of course. The Fawn & Forest bouncy chairs are much more stylish than the baby blue one with small animal pattern that I've used in the past. And Sprout Basics has some stylish fabric for those baby necessities.
Long comment I know, but I wanted those companies to get their feedback. These products are fabulous and moms love them!

These are so great and most of them are on me Need list for my baby due next month. I will be sending my email soon. The heart blanket is so beautiful.

I love the Flor tiles! We're remodeling the house and we've got some odd little areas that need to be covered (like the entry) and we're using the Flor tiles to make custom sizes.

The high chair is so cool looking -- not like anything else out there. And the bouncy is much nicer looking than the pastels you can find at the big baby stores! The Sprout Basics fabrics are fab!

I love the idea of matching a baby blanket to a nursing cover! Fawn and Forest's baby loungers are so adorable! I've got my eye on the chocolate and red! :D

THis is really inspiring. AS a business owner myself, I am more aware of the opportunity to share my own products with others. I have been able to participate in silent auctions to support families and communities in need, and I am becoming more aware of the chance I have to help other people. Instead of giving MONEY, it is a chance to serve AND inspire. Thank you for a GREAT inspiring giveaway. I know I am more motivated to search out ways to GIVE and inspire. THanks!

I love FLORs carpet blocks. I grew up with a frugal and creative mother who had done this same type of thing in our living room and I spent hours coming up with games to play on the "patchwork" floor.

said...

This is amazing! It is not always necessary to help others with money. Sometimes just giving a helping hand is enough!

said...

Love the giveaway great plans for items I will leave that in your email....as for the companies they have wonderful unique qualities and great products they stand behind.

said...

Sheesh! Are you serious? This is amazing...AMAZING! Oprah's show has been so interesting to me. How can I give back? Simple, non-rich, stressed-out me? I'm gonna go chew on this for a bit.

said...

although winning the grand prize would be amazing, the best reward from giving is the feeling you get! wonderful idea!

said...

Gotta say... a few of these companies are new to me, but super impressive. Looking over their sites has been tons of fun.

said...

What a great giveaway. I'm off to send an email to you guys! Thanks.

I love this giveaway not only because all the items are so amazing but because it also inspires you to give to others! It makes me think of ways that I can give back to others without feeling like I can't help because I don't have millions of dollars to give away. I think we can all give back to someone who needs help maybe just by being a friend or a listening ear. Gifts of kindness and service are great ways to give back to those around us. Thank you for this giveaway it has really inspired me to give back to those who need my help as well as those who have given so much to me! Thanks!!

What a way to teach our little ones the fine art of giving. When they ask where their FLOR tiles, Ouef lounger, Boon high chair, and Sprout Basics blankie and nursing cover came from we can tell them the story of the Tangled and True Grand Giveaway that inspired our family to make a quarterly practice of giving big. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

My email was sent back to me and I didn't discover it until after the Monday deadline. I'm so sad I could cry.

This is an incredible giveaway! Thanks so much! An email from me is in your inbox :)

Here is the content of my email (from yesterday) in case it doesn't go through AGAIN:

1) FLOR- this is an amazing idea. I am pretty faraway from being able to design my dream house, but I always have the plans in my mind. I always thought that hardwoods are best through out a house, but I grew up lounging around on our carpeted floors doing my homework even in college. And grad school. And now. So it would be nice to have the carpeting capabilities in lounging rooms like the bedroom. I like that FLOR is easy to change around, yet also stays put. And the design possibilities are vast! I think making stripes would look neat for a play area. I like that it is DIY and affordable!

2) boon: I already love this company for their creative designs. we already own the frog pod, and I do lust after the stuffed animal bean bag and the eating accessories. AND, they donate their profits to children's charities! Good on ya, boon!

3) I like that Sprout is owned by a "momtrepreneur" (how do you spell that?). All of the collections are beautiful. I am a nursing mom and I usually cover up and various creative ways including but not limited to scarves, burp cloths, jackets, car steering wheels, blankets, and anything else that is handy at the time. But a nursing cover would be a big step up. I lived overseas with my first son and I calculated that I have nursed on planes, trains, subways, taxis, motorbike taxis (not recommended), boats, in open air markets, cars, schools, malls, bazaars, restaurants, 4 different countries, and lots of other mundane locations.

4) fawn&forest: this is just beautiful design. I read some of the blog as well and I like that they are so comited to green products, and they highlight other great products. I always hated our fisher-price bouncy seat...one of these would be a caddy in comparison.

What do I plan to do to give big this year? I'm moving back to Asia in July, where my husband and I work as volunteer teachers in the 12th poorest country in the world. We work in the National University of Laos. Our services are completely free to the school and to the Lao government. We also have a Lao friend who will be living with us along with her husband, rent free.
I have 2 children, ages 3 1/2 and 8 months. I'm sure that in the next 2 years in Laos, we will give in a lot of little ways. But in 5 years of living overseas, we have always gotten back WAY more than we give away.
We are also trying to be more "green". I'm really into it these days. I started a blog about it at http://mygreening.blogspot.com

All the best,
Candice
